There are lots of cheap chargers out there that claim to work with the iPad, yet they do not put out enough power to act as a replacement for the official charger. They are basically iPhone-compatible chargers, and they also slap "iPad" on the list of supported products.But the iPad charger is different than one for the iPhone, requiring 10 watts of output power instead of the iPhone charger's 5 watts. An iPhone charger won't damage the iPad, but it will take forever to charge, and I don't think it will charge the iPad while it's turned on -- like plugging it into a USB port.This charger's product page really stresses that it works with the iPad, and it's really cheap, so not too much of a risk.
